Here comes my Practical 8 reflection..... ..
In this lab session i have been asked to evaluate the site www.si.edu.
Since i had been evaluated 4 website it seems to be ok for me....
During my evaluation i use the 8 criterion .........
The purpose of the website is to promote research, innovation, and discovery in science, arts through the medium of entertainment.Eventhough the sole purpose of the site is to give information, it uses entertainment as a medium to convey the message.
It gives importance to marketing as well.It covers a wide range of topics such as... from History, arts, science etc........
The site is created and maintained by smithsonian institution founded by Mr.James Smithson.
It's doesn't contain any grammatical errors or spelling mistakes.The informations in the website is up-to-date and well maintained.It had free access to most of the information. But then it also had some membership login for which some nominal amount is charged.Also we can subscribe for newsletters as well.The website has search facility as well where by you can search for other websites.More over there are some drawbacks as well.The lack of reference is one among it.It contains a lot of information which might make the users confused.But the website is successful in expressing it's purpose.
My over all impression of this site is good.(neither excellent nor Bad).

hi friends, ......Here comes my Practical 7 reflection.......
My Practical 7 was almost like practical 6.The only difference is that in practical7 i had to evaluate 3 more resources.I used those same eight criteria (from practical6) to evaluate the relevance of the three resources.By evaluating three more resources , I understood more about the differences in websites and how to choose the best...
For me this information seems to be very useful towards my research activity in future.
From my evaluation exercise i came to understand the fact that in order to choose a good website ,we must initially look into it's aim and vision ,there should be informations about how it is running and who created it....
search facility or site map, links to other relevant websites of same character....etc..should be included.
It should be free from grammatical, spelling and typographical errors. Also the information should be up-to-date and well arranged.
